At Emerald Aesthetics, we take a comprehensive approach to addressing our individualized client's weight loss goals. We are proud to offer healthy dietary and lifestyle advisement in combination with prescription weight management medications.

Semaglutide and Tirzepatide are glucagon-like peptide (GLP-1) receptor agonists which stimulate glucose-dependent insulin secretion, inhibit glucagon release and delay gastric emptying. Semaglutide and Tirzepatide are administered as a once weekly subcutaneous injection. Semaglutide and Tirzepatide were initially indicated for management of Type 2 Diabetes but have been found to be outstanding anti-obesity or weight loss medications. 

Candidates for medication therapy: 

• At least 18 years of age 
• BMI 25 - 40 (overweight - obese) 
• Inability to lose weight despite lifestyle efforts

In-depth, individualized discussion on weight loss goals, medical history, medications, allergies, medication side effects, program expectations, etc. 

Please come prepared with your current weight height and kidney function within past 6 months (creatinine).

Semaglutide:

0.25 mg - 1.0 mg = $300

1.5 mg - 2.4 mg = $400

Tirzepatide:

2.5 mg - 5 mg = $500

7.5 mg - 10 mg = $600

12.5 mg to 15 mg = $700 

The following listed conditions, and any medical condition the provider feels may risk a complication that outweighs benefit of treatment, are contraindications to treatment and will not be permitted medication therapy. This will be outlined, discussed and ultimately lies with the provider during the consultation process. 

• Currently pregnant or breastfeeding 
• Type 1 or 2 Diabetes** 
• Chronic kidney disease 
• BMI greater than 40** 
• Uncontrolled hypertension 
• Hypersensitivity to Semaglutide/Tirzepatide or any component of the formulation  
• Active alcoholism or drug addiction 
• Suspected or diagnosed eating disorders 
• History of pancreatitis or cholecystitis  
• History of gastric bypass, sleeve or surgery 
• Current weight loss therapy with another oral or injectable medication 

**Individuals with Type 1 or 2 Diabetes or BMI greater than 40 are not immediately excluded from treatment, but may benefit from alternatives to injectable weight management therapy, this can be further discussed with the provider during consultation as necessary 

Most clients experience some level of the following side effects, particularly with initiation of medication therapy and with increases in dosages, however, most clients report these side effects as minimal / tolerable.  

• Nausea 
• Diarrhea 
• Vomiting 
• Indigestion 
• Abdominal pain 
• Fatigue 
• Dizziness 
• Headache 

Serious adverse reactions are very rare, but may include: 

• Acute pancreatitis 
• Cholecystitis 
• injection site infection 
• intestinal obstruction 
• Acute interstitial nephritis 
• Anaphylaxis 

There is a black box warning for clients with personal or family history of medullary thyroid cancer or multiple endocrine neoplasia syndrome type 2 - this is due to studies performed on rodents and not clinically shown in human trials, however clients with these personal or family conditions will not be permitted to proceed with medication therapy.
